CHILDIndia which is now considered a future superpower country is facing many socio economic situations on its way of growth and developments. The billion plus population of India in one way considered as workhorse for the nation, and on the other hand difficulties in providing them basic facilities like food, health, education, housing, drinking water, sanitation, etc facilities. Marching with the developments, TheUrbanization also growing. With this rise of Urbanization, the Urban slum is also equally rising. As per the estimates of the Committee set up by Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation under the Chairmanship of Dr Pranob Sen, the urban slum population is expected at 93.06 million by 2011. This is expected to cross 100 million by 2017. The people living in slum are mostly deprived by basic facilities like drinking water, proper house, sanitation and hygienic food.

The children living in slum are not getting proper facility of education, food and are mostly neglected, though they are part and parcel of the growth and developments of Future Superpower India. Many State and Central Government schemes are there to deal these issues. But, hardly they reach to the needy. A study shows that one in every eighth urban child in India in the age group of 0-6 years lives in slums. Data also shows that Andhra Pradesh stands third in case of highest slum child population. Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh leads the first and second position. National Family and Health Survey III in India, done in 2005-06 says that 17 per cent of people of Hyderabad are living in slums. Recently Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) revealed that there are nearly 1,476 slums in Greater Hyderabad of which 1,179 are notified. Of them, 985 slums are located in the core area covering around 60 % of the total slum population of 17,36,152 in the city. GHMC has prepared a comprehensive plan to make Hyderabad slum-free city within five years at an estimated cost of Rs 12,054 crore.
Wish the Government plan for slum free city be successful and the deprived gets the basic facilities and lead better life. But, in the present scenario the slum children need better nutrition food which will help them lead a healthy growth and developments. With this aim, Gracious Paradise has decided put its tiny step ahead on this mission.
Gracious Paradise Charitable Foundation is a Non-Govt Organization that brings hope to the defenseless child laborers, illiterate, widowed girl child and provide healthy life them. With years of experience and appreciation from public, now it has started providing nutritious food to the urban slums’ Government school going children. Initially Gracious Paradise launched this program from slum area  near  Rythu Bazaar, Vanasthalipuram. So 50 Government school going children from the family living in that slum have been identified. They are poor and deprived people. They cannot feed their children properly. Still these family have dream that their children get healthy food and get education. So they are sending their toddlers to Government school, where they are getting mid day meal. But, it is not enough and sufficient for these growing kids. So  Gracious Paradise Charitable Foundation decided to take initiative to give at least good  food to 50 Government school going children.
Gracious Paradise has also planned to extend this service to another 50 school going children of Saheb Nagar area. In this program every morning these children will be given Breakfast and Dinner at a particular time. These students will be provided with Identity cards, so that the service reach the identified children. This mission has been initiated on pilot basis on a very special day 12-12-12. On this day Gracious Paradise distributed breakfast to the children. It will start soon on regular basis. In addition to this, every week the Foundation will conduct awareness program and nurture them to lead better living conditions. If possible they be will guided by Nutritionist. The program is undergoing fast and already initiation taken on informal meeting with people.
We have initiated the mission. Whatever we have till now we are managing. But due to some financial constraints it is difficult to take this mission forward without your support. This mission can be fruitful, if and only if people like you come forward to extend your support in providing nutritious food to the children. You can sponsor or give financial assistance for this project and be part of the project. You can also make a visit to the place and be a part of witnessing the program.
